Billtrust Launches MCP Server to Bring Real-Time AR Data to AI Assistants

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-22 · Last active 2026-07-22

Billtrust, a business-to-business payments and cash-flow platform, has introduced the Billtrust MCP Server to connect real-time accounts receivable data directly with generative AI assistants. The product uses the Model Context Protocol, an emerging standard for linking AI systems with external data and tools. The integration is significant for finance teams because it can reduce platform switching and make invoice, payment and credit-risk information easier to retrieve during routine reviews.

The company said finance professionals can now use natural-language prompts in Microsoft Copilot and Anthropic’s Claude to query invoices, check payment status and obtain customer-risk summaries without signing into a separate Billtrust interface. Billtrust described itself as the first AR platform to offer this type of real-time assistant connectivity. As of July 22, 2026, the announcement involved no disclosed transaction value, and Billtrust had not provided quantified targets for time savings or operational-efficiency gains.
