On February 27, 2026, Sweden’s Svenska Dagbladet and Göteborgs-Posten published findings based on interviews with more than 30 Sama employees. The footage included people using the toilet, nudity, sexual activity and credit card information. U.S. consumers filed a federal class-action lawsuit on March 4. Meta subsequently suspended the project and confirmed on April 17 that it had ended its partnership with Sama. Four data protection authorities across two continents have taken action, while the amount of damages remains for the court to determine.

The glasses feature a 12-megapixel camera, up to eight hours of battery life, a new AI food-logging function and real-time translation across 20 languages, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
