OpenRice Partners With ACPay to Launch Integrated O2O Dining Platform in Taiwan
Hong Kong-founded Asian dining platform OpenRice is partnering with Taiwanese payment services provider ACPay to enter Taiwan, targeting an opportunity in a market that lacks an integrated dining portal. The companies aim to connect the entire customer journey, from restaurant discovery and reservations to in-store payments, while helping restaurants reduce the cost of adopting digital tools and their reliance on delivery platforms that charge high commissions.
OpenRice recently announced plans to adopt an O2O omnichannel model in Taiwan. OpenRice will provide online restaurant information and reservation services, while ACPay will integrate offline POS and payment services to create an end-to-end service chain spanning customer acquisition through checkout. The companies have yet to disclose the value of the partnership, an official launch date or the number of restaurants in the initial rollout. The scale of subsequent merchant expansion will be a key metric to watch.
