Regions Taps Danella as Administrative Chief in Digital Push

Regions Financial is a major U.S. regional lender spanning consumer and commercial banking as well as wealth management. As customers move more of their financial activity online, regional banks face mounting pressure to upgrade aging technology, rethink branch networks and compete with larger institutions and fintech firms. Digital banking and core-platform modernization have therefore become central to improving efficiency, customer service and long-term growth.

Regions is refreshing its executive leadership team by moving consumer banking head Kate Danella into the role of Chief Administrative Officer effective Sept. 1. Danella will oversee digital banking, strategic planning and the modernization of the bank’s core platforms, while helping drive changes across its branch network. The expanded mandate is intended to accelerate Regions’ technology and distribution overhaul and strengthen its competitive position.
