RippleX Sees XRP Ledger Agentic Transactions Topping 10 Million

Agentic transactions are payments initiated by AI-powered software on a user’s behalf, enabling autonomous purchases of data, computing capacity and API services. Ripple positioned the XRP Ledger as infrastructure for this emerging machine economy on June 9, 2026, when it introduced the XRPL AI Starter Kit with x402-powered payments in XRP and Ripple USD, or RLUSD. Its pitch centers on three-to-five-second settlement, predictable transaction costs and a payment-focused design.

RippleX Head of Engineering Ayo Akinyele said on July 21, 2026, that agentic transactions on the XRP Ledger had recently surpassed 1 million and could quickly break 10 million. He said the total may reach 100 million within the next few years as agent development and infrastructure improve. Ripple has also joined the x402 Foundation as a premier member alongside Coinbase, Circle, AWS, Google, Mastercard, Stripe and Visa, giving it a role in shaping governance and technical standards.
