Shanghai Commercial Bank, Planto Launch Cross-Bank SME Analytics

2 reports · First detected 2026-07-22 · Last active 2026-07-24

Small and medium-sized businesses that hold accounts at several banks often rely on manual reconciliation, leaving owners without a timely view of liquidity. Shanghai Commercial Bank and financial technology company Planto are using the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Interbank Account Data Sharing, or IADS, framework to consolidate authorised account information. The initiative is significant because it turns fragmented banking records into real-time insights for cash-flow management while giving the lender more data to identify risks and opportunities.

Shanghai Commercial Bank rolled out its Inter-bank Financial Insights solution through the Shacom Business mobile app in early 2026, with details of the partnership reported on July 22. Once authorised, the service can combine accounts held at the bank and 11 other institutions and unlock 11 analytical features. They include real-time balance tracking, analysis of as much as 18 months of cash flows, reviews of unusually large transactions, recurring-payment detection and foreign-currency activity monitoring. The companies did not disclose the value of the agreement.
