SITCA's Yu Calls for Regulatory Easing and Broader Financial-Inclusion Incentives
As Taiwan seeks to internationalize its asset management industry, Securities Investment Trust & Consulting Association Chairman Chao-Wen Yu says existing regulations must accommodate innovations such as virtual assets and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. He also advocates steering long-term capital, including pension and insurance funds, into private markets. Such moves are important to the competitiveness of financial products and could broaden financing channels for businesses and long-term investment options for the public.
At the 2026 Asian Asset Management Summit, Yu urged the government to ease regulations while expanding financial-inclusion incentives under the Taiwan Individual Savings Account (TISA) program to help close workers' pension shortfalls. Available information on the event did not specify the summit's exact date, the amount of policy subsidies or funding targets. Regulators have yet to provide a timetable or quantify the scale of the proposals.
