Taiwan Takes Asian Asset Management Push to London
Taiwan is seeking to build an Asian asset management hub by leveraging its substantial private wealth, resilient capital markets and global strength in semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Promoting the plan in London, one of the world’s leading financial centers, is intended to raise Taiwan’s profile among international investors, attract financial institutions and deepen cross-border investment ties with Britain and other markets.
The Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance, the Financial Supervisory Commission, Taiwan Stock Exchange and Britain’s Z/Yen Group held a forum in the City of London on Sept. 9, 2026. FSC Vice Chairperson Chuang Hsiu-yuan and other officials outlined Taiwan’s policy agenda, while discussions covered capital-market resilience, sustainable finance, ESG investing and international cooperation. Organizers did not disclose an investment amount or fundraising target.

The history behind this eventTaiwan Pushes Asian Asset-Management Hub Plan as Warrant Trading Ranks Fifth Globally
Taiwan’s warrant market dates to the listing of its first warrant in 1997, nearly 30 years ago. The framework grew out of the government’s 1995–1996 drive to develop an Asian financial center, and the Financial Supervisory Commission is now seeking to turn Taiwan into an Asian asset-management hub. Warrants offer leverage, hedging and price discovery while boosting liquidity, making them an important part of efforts to internationalize Taiwan’s capital markets and broaden their products and services.
At the 16th annual warrant trading awards ceremony on May 27, 2026, FSC Chairman Thomas Kung-lung Peng said Taiwan ranked fifth globally by warrant trading value. Taiwan Stock Exchange data showed that 51,000 listed warrants were issued in 2025. As of the end of April 2026, average daily turnover was NT$3.63 billion, more than double a year earlier, while the number of traders was nearly 110,000, up more than 50%. Authorities will continue improving the market’s rules and transparency.
