Cybersecurity Firm Arctic Wolf Cuts Jobs to Expand AI Investment
Arctic Wolf specializes in cloud security operations and managed detection and response, with AI playing a central role in expanding its Aurora platform and automating its security operations center. On February 3, 2025, the company completed its acquisition of BlackBerry's Cylance assets in a transaction comprising $160 million in cash and about 5.5 million shares, indicating that the workforce changes extend its strategy of integrating AI and endpoint protection.
A May 6, 2026 report said Arctic Wolf cut about 250 jobs, or roughly 7% of its workforce, affecting sales, product development, marketing and other departments. Some of those laid off had worked at the company for more than four years. Arctic Wolf said the restructuring would improve operating efficiency and redirect resources toward its Aurora Superintelligence threat intelligence platform and Agentic SOC. It did not disclose either the savings from the cuts or the amount of new AI investment.
