Foxconn Hack Raises Fears of Nvidia and Intel Document Leak

Foxconn is a major manufacturing partner for technology giants including Nvidia, Intel and Apple, producing servers, chips and consumer electronics. Any leak of supply-chain blueprints and internal instructions could compromise customers’ intellectual property, product security and operations. The hacker group involved, Nitrogen, is known for ransomware attacks, but no ransom amount has been disclosed.

A May 13 cybersecurity alert said Foxconn’s U.S. facilities may have been breached by Nitrogen. The hackers claimed to have stolen confidential instructions and design sketches belonging to Nvidia, Intel and Apple, though the contents and scale of the alleged leak have yet to be confirmed. In the same wave of security alerts, Microsoft, SAP, Fortinet and Adobe also released major May updates addressing multiple high-risk vulnerabilities.
