SoFi Bank Integrates SoFiUSD Into App, Opens Trading to 14.7 Million Members
SoFi Bank is a federally regulated U.S. digital bank owned by SoFi Technologies. SoFiUSD is designed to maintain a one-to-one peg with the U.S. dollar. U.S. President Donald Trump signed the GENIUS Act on July 18, 2025, establishing a regulatory framework for payment stablecoins and paving the way for banks to enter the retail stablecoin market.
SoFi has now formally integrated SoFiUSD into its app, allowing 14.7 million members to buy, sell, hold and make payments with the stablecoin directly. The company said it is the first stablecoin issued by a U.S. national bank and brought to the retail market since the GENIUS Act was enacted. SoFi plans to develop tokenized deposits in the next phase and provide SoFiUSD liquidity to institutional clients.
