OpenSea Adds Solana NFT Trading Four Years After Beta
OpenSea, one of the best-known NFT marketplaces, built its early dominance around Ethereum before expanding into a multichain venue. Solana’s lower-cost, faster network has developed a sizable market for digital collectibles. Adding its assets gives creators and collectors another major storefront while helping OpenSea compete for activity previously concentrated on Solana-native platforms.
OpenSea has formally enabled the buying, selling and trading of Solana-based NFTs, more than four years after introducing an initial beta for the blockchain in April 2022. Users can now browse and transact in Solana digital collectibles directly through the marketplace. The announcement did not disclose trading volume, fees or the number of supported collections, leaving adoption as the next key measure of the rollout.
