Ramp, FIS Launch AI Initiatives for Spending and Cybersecurity

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-23 · Last active 2026-07-23

Generative AI is creating two distinct challenges for financial companies. Token-based pricing can make corporate technology costs volatile and difficult for finance teams to allocate, while increasingly capable models can also discover and exploit weaknesses in software that underpins payments and banking. Ramp, a corporate card and spend-management company, and Fidelity National Information Services, the bank technology and payments processor known as FIS, are addressing those risks from opposite directions: cost governance and cyber defense.

On July 16, 2026, Ramp launched AI Token Spend Management, a dashboard covering providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini and Cursor. Developed with more than 1,300 businesses managing over 100 trillion tokens a month, the tool identifies weekly changes, recommends controls and found potential savings equal to 12% of monthly AI spending for the average business; one customer uncovered $10,000 in monthly waste. The same day, FIS said it had joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing and was testing the restricted-access Mythos 5 model to scan and assess its own systems for vulnerabilities.
