Doctor Profit Exits Bitcoin Short, Buys Crypto and Hedges With MSTR
Swiss trader Doctor Profit has shifted from a directional bearish bet on Bitcoin to a hedged crypto strategy. The approach combines dollar-cost averaging into spot Bitcoin and Ether with short positions in crypto-linked equities, including MicroStrategy and Coinbase. The structure seeks exposure to underlying digital assets while offsetting the leverage and valuation premiums embedded in listed companies whose shares often amplify moves in cryptocurrency markets.
In his latest portfolio review, Doctor Profit said he had closed his Bitcoin short and begun regularly accumulating BTC and ETH. His short position in MicroStrategy, traded under the MSTR ticker, was the standout after the shares fell 64.8%, generating substantially more profit than his bearish wagers on artificial-intelligence stocks. The results highlight a long-spot, short-proxy trade designed to capture the relative underperformance of leveraged crypto equities.
