CZ Says High U.S. Crypto Trading Fees Remain Uncompetitive
The United States is seeking greater regulatory clarity and mainstream adoption for crypto assets, but trading costs on domestic platforms remain higher than in global markets because of constraints on market depth and liquidity. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, said the United States must create a more competitive trading environment if it wants to become the world's crypto capital.
Speaking at the 2026 DC Blockchain Summit, CZ said U.S. crypto trading fees were too high and liquidity was insufficient. He floated reviving Binance.US to give users access to global liquidity but disclosed no fee levels, investment amounts or firm timeline. He also said a court's recent dismissal of related litigation showed that the judiciary was placing greater weight on evidence.
