AWS Commits $500 Million to Student Cloud and AI Skills

Cloud computing and generative AI have become core infrastructure for corporate technology strategies, but the cost of hands-on training can keep university students from gaining job-ready experience. Amazon Web Services is expanding its campus talent pipeline by giving students access to tools, instruction and industry credentials designed to build practical skills in cloud development and artificial intelligence before graduation.

As of Aug. 21, 2026, Amazon has announced a commitment of more than $500 million for a global AWS student rewards initiative. The program will provide university students with free AWS credits, training resources and certification exam vouchers, allowing them to develop cloud and AI projects and demonstrate those capabilities to prospective employers. Amazon framed the investment as an effort to prepare the next generation of cloud builders.
