Fubon Expands Cross-Border Wealth Push as Kaohsiung Zone Turns One
Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission began its Asian asset-management center drive in June 2024 and opened the Kaohsiung pilot zone in July 2025 to attract wealthy clients and offshore capital. Industrywide assets under management increased by NT$10.62 trillion through April 2026. Fubon Financial Holding is using the program to combine Taipei Fubon Bank, Fubon Life and Fubon Securities across investments, insurance, financing and family-office advice, as Taiwan seeks to narrow the wealth-management gap with Hong Kong and Singapore.
At the zone’s first-anniversary event on July 24, 2026, Fubon said the three units had recorded strong business growth, though it did not disclose group AUM or revenue figures. Taipei Fubon Bank has embedded a Model Portfolio process, Fubon Life has introduced three foreign-currency pilot policies, and Fubon Securities opened a new Kaohsiung branch in June. The group plans to deepen cross-border cooperation through its OBU, OIU and OSU platforms while expanding asset-allocation, family-governance and intergenerational-succession services.
