Google Fully Integrates Gemini AI Across Workspace Apps to Streamline Document and Presentation Creation
Google is integrating its Gemini generative AI assistant more deeply across Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive. The integration can draw directly on emails, existing files and web content, reducing the time needed to gather material, draft documents and create presentations while strengthening Workspace's position against Microsoft 365.
The latest update adds features including “Help me create” and “Match writing style,” which can automatically generate draft documents, tables and presentation content from prompts. The features are currently available only to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google has not announced a broader release date or any additional charges for individual features, and it also plans to introduce the ability to generate complete PowerPoint presentations directly from text prompts.

The history behind this eventGoogle Unveils Workspace Intelligence to Automate Enterprise Documents and Collaboration With AI
Google Workspace, which includes Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Meet, is central to everyday business communication and document collaboration. Google is elevating Gemini from an assistant within individual applications to an underlying intelligence layer spanning its services. The goal is to connect fragmented data and reduce the time spent searching for information, organizing it and creating content.
Google unveiled Workspace Intelligence at Google Cloud Next on April 9, 2025. Using multi-stage retrieval and an enterprise knowledge graph, the system can understand and connect information across Workspace in real time. It can automatically create presentations, summarize key work priorities and connect with third-party tools such as Asana and Jira to carry out collaborative workflows.
