AI White Hats Find Major Bitcoin Bug Every Hour
Bitcoin’s ecosystem relies on a sprawling network of open-source libraries, where an unpatched flaw can expose wallets, trading services and core infrastructure to attack. Volunteer security group Bitcoin Red Team is using several frontier AI models to scan that code at scale, highlighting how artificial intelligence is becoming a powerful force multiplier for defensive cybersecurity research and vulnerability analysis.
Bitcoin Red Team is finding an average of one major vulnerability per researcher per hour, according to the latest report. The group has disclosed more than 12 flaws to affected Bitcoin projects and is working privately with developers on patches before releasing technical details. The coordinated-disclosure approach is intended to reduce the chance that attackers can exploit the weaknesses before fixes are available.
