Robinhood Partners With dYdX to Launch Arcus DEX on New Chain, Targeting Tokenized Assets
Robinhood is extending its securities and crypto-asset services to its proprietary Layer 2 network, with the dYdX Labs technical team building the core trading infrastructure. dYdX’s rebranding as Arcus reflects an expansion from crypto derivatives into tokenized equities, in an effort to connect traditional finance with onchain trading markets.
Robinhood Chain formally launched on July 20, 2026, alongside the Arcus decentralized exchange developed by Robinhood and dYdX Labs. The platform will serve as the chain’s core DEX, offering perpetual contracts and fee-free trading in 95 tokenized stocks. The two companies have not disclosed the value of the partnership or trading-volume targets.

The history behind this eventRobinhood-Backed Arcus Launches Tokenized Stocks and Perpetuals
Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network built with Arbitrum technology for financial services and tokenized real-world assets. Arcus, founded by Eddie Zhang and developed by the team behind dYdX, counts Robinhood Crypto as a strategic investor. Its self-custodial model combines tokenized equities, crypto assets and derivatives in a single cross-margined account, underscoring the race to bring traditional markets onchain.
Arcus said on July 21, 2026, that it had launched round-the-clock, zero-fee trading in more than 95 Stock Tokens on Robinhood Chain, alongside beta perpetual markets spanning equities, ETFs, commodities and cryptocurrencies. The perps waitlist has topped 75,000 signups. Paxos Trust Company-issued USDG serves as the main collateral and settlement asset. Robinhood Chain processed about $3.1 billion in decentralized-exchange volume during its first seven days on mainnet, Bernstein estimated.
