xAI's Grok is moving its generative-media tools beyond one-off queries toward automated production. Imagine Agent Mode replaces the conventional chat box with an infinite canvas where users can extend and organize images and videos in one workspace, highlighting a shift in AI product competition toward agentic workflows capable of executing multistep tasks.

As of July 20, 2026, Grok was quietly testing Imagine Agent Mode on the web. After receiving a single prompt, the Agent can automatically break down and orchestrate a multistep generation workflow, producing a package containing both images and videos in one run. xAI has yet to announce a formal launch date, supported regions, subscription plans or additional fees.
