Webzen Takes 13.75% Gogolook Stake to Expand AI Fraud Defense
Gogolook, the Taiwan-listed TrustTech company founded in 2012, uses artificial intelligence, big-data analytics and communications databases to develop fraud-prevention and digital-trust services. Its products include caller-identification app Whoscall and website-reputation platform ScamAdviser, with operations extending across Asia, Europe and the Americas. The investment highlights growing demand for tools that can counter increasingly sophisticated digital scams while strengthening platform governance and cybersecurity.
Webzen Inc. said on July 8, 2026, that it spent NT$580 million to acquire 4.888 million Gogolook shares through the open market, giving it a 13.75% stake and making it the company’s largest single shareholder. The companies plan to combine Webzen’s membership platforms, digital-content operations and payment-related user scenarios with Gogolook’s AI-driven fraud defenses, seeking broader adoption of digital-trust services in Taiwan and overseas markets.
