Google Develops Restart-Free Chrome Updates as AI Accelerates Fixes

Chrome 149 and 150 fixed 1,072 security bugs, surpassing the 1,036 addressed across the previous 23 milestones. Separately, Chrome’s Stable release cadence will halve from four weeks to two starting in September 2026.

The AI-assisted effort also uncovered a Chrome flaw that had remained undetected for 13 years, highlighting the technology’s growing role in finding long-lived weaknesses.
