KGI Securities Expands Campus Push as Gen Z Embraces Python Trading
The spread of odd-lot trading, mobile brokerage apps and securities APIs is changing how Generation Z approaches investing in Taiwan. Younger investors are moving beyond screen watching and conventional fundamental research to use Python for market-data analysis, strategy design and automated execution. The shift brings programming, finance and risk management together, while turning universities into an important channel for brokerages seeking to develop digital-investment skills and cultivate future clients.
KGI Securities said its latest survey showed that young investors are beginning to combine Python with brokerage APIs for quantitative analysis and automated trading. The brokerage has partnered with several leading colleges and universities to offer quantitative trading courses, supported by online hands-on instruction and a dedicated app. The report did not disclose the survey date, sample size, number of participating schools, investment amount or course timetable, leaving the initiative’s scale and timing unspecified.
