Citadel is a major global hedge fund and market-making group whose founder, Ken Griffin, previously questioned the usefulness of generative AI. Internal applications now show that AI agents can do more than administrative work: they can perform complex analysis once handled by senior financial teams, potentially reshaping talent needs and workflows across the financial industry.
Griffin recently told a forum that analysis once requiring teams to spend months can now be completed with AI tools in just days, improving efficiency by several dozen times. Reports did not disclose the forum’s exact date, the name of the system used or any amounts involved. Griffin nevertheless acknowledged that highly skilled work is being automated rapidly and that AI’s impact on employment and society will be enormous.
