Fluidstack Valuation Soars to $18 Billion on Google TPU Deals
UK startup Fluidstack has emerged as a major provider of artificial-intelligence computing infrastructure through large data-center contracts tied to Google’s tensor processing units and Anthropic. Its expansion matters because it helps Google scale capacity for its in-house TPU chips as the technology giant seeks to compete more effectively with Nvidia, whose graphics processors dominate the AI accelerator market.
Fluidstack’s valuation has surged to $18 billion on the strength of its Google TPU business. The company has accelerated deployment by tapping surplus power at cryptocurrency mining sites, allowing it to add data-center capacity faster than conventional developers. That growth has come with substantial leverage, however: Fluidstack has accumulated more than $15 billion in project debt, raising the stakes around execution, utilization and long-term contract performance.
