Taiwan Business Bank Joins Earth Hour Lights-Off Campaign, Earns CDP Climate A Rating
Earth Hour, launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), encourages businesses and the public to confront climate change and the energy transition by switching off non-essential lights. Taiwan Business Bank took part in the campaign and extended its carbon-reduction efforts to lending, investment and operational management, highlighting how financial institutions can advance ESG practices through capital allocation and consumer rewards.
Taiwan Business Bank switched off lights at all 125 of its branches across Taiwan for three consecutive nights in support of Earth Hour. The bank also received the highest A rating in CDP's climate change assessment in 2025. In addition, it has introduced green-consumption rewards through its Sustainable Living Card and an internal carbon-pricing mechanism that incorporates climate costs into operational decisions.
