OpenAI, Anthropic Snap Up Macs for AI Training

OpenAI, Anthropic and other artificial-intelligence labs are adding Mac mini and Mac Studio systems to their computing infrastructure, taking advantage of Apple Silicon’s unified memory architecture. The companies have purchased or leased tens of thousands of Mac mini and Mac Studio units, according to recent reports, helping lift Apple’s Mac revenue while tightening availability of some high-end configurations. The reports did not disclose the value of the orders, precise delivery dates or a company-by-company breakdown, leaving the financial scale and timing of the spending unclear.
