Synopsys, Nvidia Unveil Agentic AI Chip Design Platform

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-18 · Last active 2026-08-18

Chip verification and simulation are among the most time-consuming and computing-intensive stages of semiconductor development. Synopsys, a major electronic design automation provider, is combining its engineering software with Nvidia’s AI models and accelerated computing infrastructure. The partnership is aimed at deploying autonomous agents that can plan, execute and refine complex design tasks, potentially reducing development bottlenecks as advanced chips and electronic systems become harder to build.

Synopsys and Nvidia unveiled the agentic AI solution at the 2026 Design Automation Conference, or DAC. The platform integrates Nvidia Nemotron models and GPU-accelerated infrastructure to automate verification and simulation workflows, with the companies targeting substantially shorter validation cycles and higher engineering productivity. The offering is scheduled for commercial release in the second half of 2026, marking a further push by both companies to embed generative and agentic AI across semiconductor design.
