Marsh Launches Stratus With $10 Billion in Digital Infrastructure Cover
The rapid buildout of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other data-intensive services is driving investment in data centers while increasing exposure to fire, equipment failure and business interruption. Marsh, the global insurance broker and risk adviser, created Stratus to help digital infrastructure projects move from construction into operations with appropriate property protection, while giving insurers and alternative-capital providers a structure for assessing and diversifying large, complex risks.
As of Aug. 29, 2026, Marsh has formally launched the Stratus property insurance exchange with as much as $10 billion of global capacity for data centers and other digital infrastructure. The platform brings together 30 traditional and alternative-capital providers, allowing participating firms to evaluate individual assets using more consistent risk information and distribute exposures across a broader capital base. Marsh says the arrangement should improve access to coverage as projects enter their operational phase.
