Taiwan’s NT$10 Billion AI Fund Invests NT$75 Million in Five Startups in First Year
Taiwan’s National Development Fund approved the AI Startup Investment Enhancement Program on August 9, 2024, earmarking NT$10 billion over 10 years. The Industrial Development Administration under the Ministry of Digital Affairs is investing alongside private-sector capital. Launched on March 31, 2025, the program aims to fill a growth-funding gap for Taiwan’s AI and digital-economy startups while connecting them with computing power, data and market resources.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs announced the program’s first-year results in March 2026. As of the end of February, the National Development Fund and the ministry had approved investments totaling NT$75 million in five companies: ByteLingo, Turing Drive, ALIFECOM Technology, Alpha Fintech and metabiz. That represented 0.75% of the NT$10 billion allocation. The program will also provide GPU computing resources, a sovereign AI corpus and industry matchmaking to help the companies expand their products into international markets.
