Wordwatch Launches Misconduct Readiness Tool Ahead of FCA Expansion

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-18 · Last active 2026-08-18

Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority is set to broaden its regulatory treatment of non-financial misconduct from September 2026, affecting about 37,000 regulated firms outside the banking sector. Conduct such as workplace bullying can signal weaknesses in culture and governance, increasing pressure on firms to investigate allegations across email, messaging and other communication channels while preserving evidence suitable for regulatory scrutiny.

Regtech company Wordwatch has launched an investigation-readiness assessment tool designed to help firms identify gaps in their ability to detect, investigate and substantiate non-financial misconduct. The product evaluates preparedness across communication channels, including access to relevant records and the integrity of supporting evidence, giving affected businesses time to strengthen internal controls and investigation procedures before the FCA’s expanded framework takes effect in September 2026.
