World Launches AgentKit With Coinbase Integration for Human-Verified AI Agent Payments
World, the identity network co-founded by Sam Altman, provides World ID, a core service that uses cryptography to verify that a user is a real and unique human. As AI agents begin autonomously accessing APIs and purchasing online services, tracing each agent to the user behind it and reducing impersonation risks have become essential challenges for agentic commerce.
World has launched AgentKit, enabling developers to add World ID human verification to AI agents while integrating Coinbase’s x402 micropayments protocol. Verified agents can submit cryptographic identity proofs and make small payments when calling APIs or using online services. Reports have not yet disclosed a formal launch date, payment amounts per transaction or pricing.
