Sharpa Raises Over 4.5 Billion Yuan at 22 Billion Yuan Valuation

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-28 · Last active 2026-08-28

Sharpa, founded by an entrepreneur behind lidar maker Hesai Technology, is developing general-purpose robots powered by Physical AI. Its core technologies include dexterous robotic hands and a proprietary CraftNet model designed to support perception, reasoning and precise manipulation. Backing from Alibaba, Tencent, Meituan and JD.com underscores intensifying investor interest in embodied AI systems that can perform useful tasks in real-world commercial settings.

As of Aug. 28, 2026, Sharpa had disclosed for the first time that it raised more than 4.5 billion yuan ($630 million) in total funding, giving the company a post-money valuation of 22 billion yuan and putting it above Hesai’s reported valuation benchmark. Sharpa has also begun testing its robots in DQ stores, using the retail deployment to assess fine-motor performance and the practicality of operating its technology in customer-facing environments.
