Nauru Appoints Crypto Entrepreneur Dadvan Yousuf to Advance Digital Asset Policy
Nauru is a Pacific island nation covering about 21 square kilometers with a population of roughly 12,500. Facing significant economic and climate-related risks, it is seeking new sources of revenue. Parliament passed legislation in June 2025 establishing the Command Ridge Virtual Asset Authority (CRVAA), which licenses and regulates crypto businesses, digital banks and Web3 activities.
President David Adeang announced on April 14, 2026, that crypto entrepreneur Dadvan Yousuf had been appointed Nauru's first international trade commissioner. Yousuf will engage with virtual asset service providers, financial institutions and technology companies to promote cross-border cooperation and attract global investment. The government has not disclosed an investment amount, while its policy focus is shifting from establishing regulations to building a hub for virtual asset activity.
