JetBrains Unveils Central as Enterprise Hub for Managing and Running AI Agents
JetBrains Central is an enterprise AI-agent software development platform designed as a centralized management and execution hub. As teams adopt multiple models and agents, access governance, workflow monitoring and contextual consistency become critical to deployment. Central aims to reduce management and cybersecurity risks through unified infrastructure.
JetBrains has unveiled Central with infrastructure for running agents, along with workflow governance, monitoring and management capabilities. It also uses semantic-context optimization to improve how agents handle development tasks. The platform supports models including Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini. Early access is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026, and pricing has not been disclosed.

JetBrains, a developer-tools specialist for 26 years, has launched Air, an agent-first platform that orchestrates Codex, Claude Agent, Gemini CLI and Junie in one place. The product addresses the fragmentation of AI coding agents across terminals, configurations and code contexts. The initiative will test whether JetBrains can extend its IntelliJ ecosystem into the multi-agent collaboration market.
JetBrains opened Air for public preview in March 2026, offering the macOS version as a free download. It supports four agents that can run locally, in Docker containers or through Git worktrees. Junie CLI entered beta at the same time, spanning terminals, IDEs, CI/CD, GitHub and GitLab. It supports models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Grok, with no additional platform fee for bring-your-own-key, or BYOK, usage.
