Yunlin Deploys AI to Fight Fraud and Expand Smart-City Governance

Yunlin County Government is working with Foxconn and digital-trust company Gogolook to embed artificial intelligence into local governance. The initiative targets online scams, impersonation of public officials and counterfeiting of Yunlin agricultural brands, risks that can undermine consumer confidence and public trust. It also marks a shift in Taiwan’s smart-city agenda from stand-alone technology demonstrations toward systems designed to identify problems, coordinate data and speed up government responses.

The latest deployment uses Gogolook’s Watchmen technology to build an AI-powered anti-fraud hub that continuously monitors suspected impersonation and counterfeit content. The system can move from detection to notification and a takedown request within 24 hours, covering scams involving county leaders and local agricultural products. Yunlin plans to extend the same AI-led approach to early warnings for extreme weather and surveillance of illegal waste dumping, broadening the partnership beyond fraud prevention.
