Tether Launches Open-Source Mining Framework to Unify Bitcoin Infrastructure Management
Bitcoin mining operations typically use a mix of mining rigs, power equipment and proprietary software from multiple vendors, creating data silos and vendor lock-in as they expand across sites. USDT issuer Tether has therefore extended its open-source tools to the infrastructure layer, offering a consistent management framework for operations ranging from home miners to gigawatt-scale facilities.
Tether released its open-source Mining Development Kit (MDK) on April 27, 2026. It combines a JavaScript backend SDK, a React component library and a central coordination layer to provide unified device monitoring, data storage and deployment of automation modules. The company did not disclose the amount spent on development or investment.
