Wistron Expands Texas AI Manufacturing as US Supply-Chain Shift Accelerates

The United States increasingly treats semiconductors and artificial intelligence infrastructure as national-security priorities, encouraging production of servers and critical components on American soil. Wistron Chairman Simon Lin said the migration of technology supply chains to the US has become irreversible. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer’s push into advanced AI production in Texas reflects a broader industry effort to realign capacity amid geopolitical risks and policy-driven localization.

Wistron said it has used AI across internal operations, automated manufacturing and process improvements to offset higher US labor and production costs. Those measures also helped the company navigate local regulatory constraints and proceed with an expansion of advanced AI server lines in Texas. Wistron did not disclose the project’s investment amount, planned capacity or a firm production date in its latest remarks, but said its US manufacturing buildout would continue.
