LINE Taiwan to Test Premium Subscription at NT$165 a Month

LINE Taiwan is expanding beyond messaging by linking personal data management with shopping, gifting and other consumer services. LINE Premium marks a push to turn the widely used communications app into a paid digital-services hub, using cloud tools, member benefits and loyalty rewards to deepen engagement and generate more recurring revenue across the company’s ecosystem.

As of Aug. 5, 2026, LINE Taiwan plans to begin testing LINE Premium in Taiwan as early as this week for NT$165 ($5.50) a month. The subscription offers five core features, including 100GB of cloud backup, data transfers between operating systems and scheduled messages. It also bundles reward points and discounts for services including LINE Shopping and LINE Gift.
