Far Eastern International Bank, Taiwan High Prosecutors Office Establish Virtual-Asset Anti-Fraud Intelligence-Sharing Framework
Virtual-asset fraud often spans bank accounts, exchange wallets and multiple platforms, making it difficult for any single institution to reconstruct the flow of funds. Far Eastern International Bank is a major domestic hub for fiat flows linked to virtual assets, having processed more than NT$250 billion in VASP fiat transactions in 2025. Its partnership with the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office can therefore help prosecutors, police and investigators identify anomalies, connect related cases and prevent money laundering.
On March 25, 2026, Far Eastern International Bank and the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office signed a memorandum of understanding on a “suspicious transaction analysis mechanism,” integrating bank fund flows, virtual-asset flows and cross-platform behavioral patterns. The bank said it has visibility into more than 95% of Taiwan's virtual-asset deposits and withdrawals and has formed a joint defense network with four VASPs, including XREX. When anomalies are detected, the network can restrict bank accounts or exchange wallets, improving the efficiency of investigations and fraud prevention.
