Concord Consulting Wins Kaohsiung Pilot Approval, Plans Catastrophe Bond Strategy
Taiwan is developing an Asian asset-management hub, with the Kaohsiung Asset Management Zone serving as a testing ground for new financial services aimed at wealthy clients. Concord Consulting’s approval to conduct a multi-channel pilot business allows it to broaden access to alternative investments, supporting the government’s effort to deepen Taiwan’s wealth-management market and expand the range of products available for global portfolio diversification.
As of July 31, 2026, Concord Consulting had formally secured pilot eligibility in the Kaohsiung zone and plans to launch its first initiative with global insurance-linked securities specialist Twelve Securis. The firms will promote an alternative strategy centered on catastrophe bonds for high-net-worth clients. The available announcement did not disclose a fundraising or investment target, and no date was provided for the strategy’s formal market launch.

The history behind this eventConcord Investment Consulting Targets Wealthy Clients With Cat Bonds
Catastrophe bonds transfer risks from events such as typhoons and earthquakes from insurers to capital-market investors. Their returns are generally less correlated with conventional stocks and bonds, making them a potential portfolio diversifier. Concord Securities Investment Consulting plans to broaden its product range as Taiwan promotes an Asian asset-management hub, targeting high-net-worth clients and family offices seeking alternative income opportunities.
Chairman Li Yi-bin said the firm plans to introduce catastrophe bonds and other diversified financial products in 2026, prioritizing wealthy investors and family offices with strong investment demand. Concord said cat bonds offer high liquidity, low correlation with traditional assets and potentially better returns than high-yield debt. The company has not disclosed the planned offering size, expected yield or a specific launch date.
