World Series of Poker Adds Solana Payments and Stablecoin Payouts
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is one of the world’s longest-running live poker tournaments. The Solana Foundation is the title sponsor of its 57th edition and has partnered with crypto payments provider MoonPay to introduce onchain payments. The adoption of crypto assets by a major international event shows blockchain expanding into practical uses such as tournament entry and prize settlement.
Beginning June 10, 2026, WSOP players at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas can use SOL to buy tournament entries, with MoonPay serving as the exclusive processor and charging $0 in fees. The feature will expand to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas in December 2026, when winners will be able to receive prizes in stablecoins on Solana.
