Nansen Establishes Bhutan Entity to Support GMC Digital-Asset Push

1 reports · First detected 2026-02-25 · Last active 2026-02-25

Blockchain analytics firm Nansen is expanding into Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City, or GMC, a special administrative region designed to attract investment and develop new industries. Digital assets form part of GMC’s economic strategy, spanning custody, tokenization and regulatory frameworks. Nansen’s blockchain data and market-intelligence capabilities could help policymakers and institutions assess activity, risks and opportunities as the jurisdiction builds a regulated digital-asset ecosystem.

Nansen said it will establish a legal entity in GMC and assemble a local team to provide blockchain analytics and market intelligence in the region. The company and GMC have not disclosed the investment amount, planned headcount or a launch date for full operations. The move gives Nansen an on-the-ground role in Bhutan’s digital-asset push and could support the development of policy, compliance systems and infrastructure for tokenized assets and custody services.
