Futures Inflows and Liquidity Clusters Steer Bitcoin's Price
Trading activity in Bitcoin futures and derivatives has long been a key driver of short-term cryptocurrency price swings. When investors accumulate large leveraged positions on major exchanges, their liquidation levels form “liquidity clusters” on-chain and in order books. These clusters can pull Bitcoin's price toward them like magnets, becoming crucial short-term defensive lines in the contest between bulls and bears.
According to a July 17, 2026 Cointelegraph report, the latest liquidation heatmap from data analytics platform CoinGlass shows that bullish liquidity now significantly exceeds bearish liquidity. If Bitcoin can break through the overhead bearish resistance, it could trigger a cascade of forced liquidations and accelerate a rally toward the $67,000 mark.
