1 reports · First detected 2026-04-10 · Last active 2026-04-10

Crypto exchanges are moving into traditional commodities by offering round-the-clock trading in tokenized assets such as gold and silver, as well as perpetual contracts. Kaiko said the absence of benchmark prices on weekends can thin order books and widen spreads. Ubuntu Tribe said the lack of credible audits for physical metal reserves remains an obstacle to institutional adoption.

Binance Research said on April 9, 2026, that peak trading volume in silver perpetuals had reached about 40% of comparable Comex contracts. Tokenized silver’s share of Comex volume rose from 1.37% in January to 14.90% in March and 14.98% in April. In March, gold perpetual trading volume was equivalent to 401% of TOCOM volume, 228% of MCX volume and 216% of DGCX volume.
