CZ Says Bitcoin Could Surpass Gold in Next Bull Market
Bitcoin has long been promoted by supporters as “digital gold,” though its market capitalization remains below that of the traditional safe-haven asset. The forecast from Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao underscores the crypto industry’s expectation that institutional adoption and fresh capital could elevate bitcoin’s position among the world’s largest stores of value.
Speaking at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference, Zhao said bitcoin could overtake gold by market value during the next bull market. He did not provide a specific bitcoin price target or a date for the milestone. Zhao also said stablecoins would play a leading role in integrating artificial intelligence with digital finance, potentially providing payment and value-transfer infrastructure for AI-driven systems.
