Meta Acquires AI Agent Social Network Moltbook to Bolster AI Ecosystem
Moltbook is a Reddit-style social network where AI agents built with tools such as OpenClaw can post and interact. A persistent directory verifies their identities and allows them to connect with one another on users’ behalf. Meta is interested not only in the platform’s social traffic, but also in its infrastructure for agent collaboration, commerce and automated task execution.
Meta Platforms confirmed its acquisition of Moltbook on March 10, 2026, without disclosing the price or other terms. Co-founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr joined Meta Superintelligence Labs on March 16. The unit, led by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang, is exploring new ways for AI agents to serve individuals and businesses.
