MoonPay Launches MoonPay Agents to Give AI Agents Autonomous Payment and Trading Capabilities
AI agents have been able to analyze markets and offer trading recommendations, but have lacked a payment layer that lets them directly hold and transfer value. MoonPay has therefore integrated crypto on- and off-ramps, non-custodial wallets and onchain transactions into the MoonPay CLI. Users retain control of their assets, while agents can convert, trade and allocate assets on their behalf, providing key infrastructure for the emerging “agent economy.”
MoonPay launched MoonPay Agents on February 24, 2026. On May 1, it partnered with Exodus and card issuer Monavate to introduce the MoonAgents Card, enabling AI agents to spend onchain stablecoins through the Mastercard network, initially in the United Kingdom and Latin America. A desktop version launched on June 3 with Claude and Codex integrations. MoonPay has not disclosed the investment amount, minimum funding requirement or transaction limits.
