Hyundai Motor Completes First Cross-Border Stablecoin Transfer on Avalanche
Traditional cross-border corporate transfers often carry high fees and take several days. South Korea’s Hyundai Card partnered with infrastructure provider Axiym to integrate stablecoin settlement into multinational treasury workflows. The initiative made Hyundai Motor the first major South Korean company to use the Avalanche blockchain for global treasury transfers, marking a new milestone for enterprise Web3 finance.
Hyundai Card said on July 9, 2026, that Hyundai Motor’s U.S. and Mexican subsidiaries had completed their first $20,000 cross-border settlement. Conducted in USDT on Avalanche, the transaction cut a transfer that previously took several hours to seven minutes. The system is expected to expand to Europe by the end of July, with tests of settlements in multiple fiat currencies to be conducted there in partnership with Visa and Circle.
